ABOUT
THE PHOTOGRAPHER:
Robin
Shotola Fuchs began documenting weddings in 1997,
while working as a staff photographer for a Connecticut
newspaper. Her eye for unique camera angles and her
candid style of photography was popular with readers,
and one day she received a call in the newsroom from
a bride who had seen her pictures in the paper. She
loved Robin’s photos and asked if she would
photograph her wedding. Although not completely sure
what she was getting into, Robin agreed to shoot the
wedding. And she’s glad she did because no career
has been as fulfilling as documenting one of the most
important days of a couple’s life.
Robin knows first-hand how stressful and overwhelming
it can be to plan a wedding. Though she has been photographing
weddings for almost 10 years, it wasn't until she
actually planned her own wedding that she truly understood
what her clients experience. Now she’s even
more empathetic to their stresses.
More than anything, she
wants brides and grooms to feel at ease in front of
the camera. Very camera-shy herself, she tries to
make her clients forget she’s even there. Plus,
she gets her best photos when people don't know they're
being photographed.
Robin's photographs have
appeared in The Washington Post, TIME Digital, Woman's
World Magazine and others. She has won several regional
awards for her photography including Photographer
of the Year for both the New Hampshire Press Photographers
Association and also the New England region of the
National Press Photographers Association.
